How to mint DNS+ENS
Minting is the foundational process for generating a new non-fungible token (NFT). By definition, an NFT is a unique digital asset that signifies the ownership of an individual item or entity, which can range from artwork, collectibles, to domain names.
The following guide outlines the steps to mint a .art domain name using ENS (Ethereum Name Service) on the platform protocol.art:
Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
Start by visiting the website protocol.art. From the main menu, connect your wallet to enable digital transactions on the platform.
Step 2: Domain Name Search
After connecting your wallet, proceed to the search box to identify your desired domain name. The availability of the domain name will be color-coded: "available" names are highlighted in green, while those already owned will show the owner's address. You can mint emoji, emoji combinations with Latin letters (A-Z), digits (0-9), and hyphens (-) to form unique ENS domain names.
Step 3: Domain Name Selection
Click on your chosen name. A new window will appear, presenting options to decide the length of your domain ownership and the price you're willing to pay. Note that your domain registration is time-bound and will require periodic renewal.
Step 4: Domain Name Registration
After confirming your selections, click on the "Register" button. This action will link you to your connected wallet where you must approve the transaction.
Step 5: Confirmation
Congratulations! With the transaction approved, you are now the proud owner of a unique .art domain. Enjoy your digital real estate! 🎉
